Abstract:To address the rumbling noise issue occurring in an 8-pole 48-slot electric drive system of new energy vehicles under high-speed operation, numerical analysis and experimental validation were conducted using Siemens LMS acoustic acquisition software and Fluent fluid simulation software.Through LMS real-vehicle testing and subjective evaluation,it was confirmed that the rumbling noise was primarily caused by first-order noise.Combining with the noise generation mechanism,it was inferred to originate from poor rotor dynamic balance.Fluent simulation of internal oil flow revealed that some coolant entering the rotor accumulated in internal corners without effective drainage, impairing rotor dynamic balance.Based on this,CATIA 3D modeling software was employed to optimize rotor structure by adding oil drainage grooves and radial oil discharge channels.Improved fluid simulations demonstrated no significant oil retention within the rotor.Real-vehicle tests with the optimized rotor showed complete elimination of rumbling noise. The research findings provide valuable references for analyzing and optimizing first-order noise and its harmonic frequency anomalies in electric drive systems of new energy vehicles.
